I am not sure if the writer is an actual local, but they definitely did their research. My favorite part of the book is the top 10 lists which would help me prioritize my visit. Highly recommend. Abq18 4.0 out of 5 stars Might be a fun gift for a traveler The author is not a Santa Fe native, but she has clearly come to love her adopted city for its diversity and some of its less well-known features. Whether you're interested in the famous Santa Fe gustatoy delights or its equally famous historical sites, this is a fun read. It's concise and schematic, separating out activities and places that might attract people with specific interests. The book does a good job of conveying the atmosphere of the place, too. A litle more detail would be nice. Perhaps that will happen in the next edition.
