Author Information

Wayne Wentzel has degrees from Denison University (B. Mus), Kent State University (M. A), Harvard University (A. M.) and the University of Pittsburgh (Ph.D). He retired in 2006 from Butler University where he was music professor since 1972 and now has the rank of professor emeritus. As part of his ongoing scholarship on the works of Samuel Barber, he has presented papers on the use of leitmotifs in that composer’s opera, Vanessa and Antony and Cleopatra.
