Overview"The title Salty Apples is a combination of two elements. An apple is the iconic symbol of a teacher and education overall. Whether it's a literal apple that was given to teachers more in previous eras or if it's a golden apple that symbolizes the profession - the apple is a very common symbol of teachers. Christians are told to be the salt of the world (Matthew 5:13), and be different from others who don't have faith in Jesus. We're told to maintain our ""saltiness"" in order to serve God and our neighbor, and to let our light shine in a sin darkened world. This is especially important when surrounded by unbelievers, who could use some saltiness in their lives. This devotional is meant for Christians who work in a public educational setting, and are seeking a resource to help nurture their faith. There are 200 devotions, designed to be used over the course of a school year, under 10 different categories, ranging from general theological topics, to current topics and challenges in schools, to devotions connected to a specific part of the church year. It is my prayerful hope these meditations may serve as a way to strengthen your faith and walk with Christ."
