Author Information

Tam O'Shaughnessy is a professor emeritus of school psychology at San Diego State University. A former biology teacher, she is the author of a dozen books for children, including Mission: Planet Earth and The Third Planet, winner of the American Institute of Physics Children's Science Writing Award (both co-authored with Sally Ride). She is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of San Diego-based Sally Ride Science, a company that creates programs and publications to inspire young people - especially girls - to stick with science as they go through school.
