Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDr. Sudershan Pasupuleti currently serves as professor since 2014 at School of Social Work at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Discipline Coordinator and Adjunct Faculty (2015-2020) for UTRGV School of Medicine. Earlier Dr. Pasupuleti served as Department Chair of Department of Social Work (2014-2018) and Associate Dean of Graduate College (2018-21) at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and undergraduate program director and professor (2011-2013) at the University of Toledo (OH). He has nearly three and half decades of professional experience in social work teaching, research, practice, and consulting in working with large systems (communities and organizations) including nearly 18 years of administrative experience in formal leadership roles at UTRGV Graduate College, Department of Social Work, the University of Toledo Office of Service Learning and Community Engagement (2005-2009) and the Development Action & Research Center in India (1996-2000). He has extensively taught at both undergraduate and graduate programs at different schools of social work in the United States and in India. Dr. Pasupuleti is active researcher and grant writer, besides a social work educator teaching wide-ranging courses. He engaged in knowledge production, dissemination, and grant writing for securing funds for his scholarship and research activities. He contributed 45 peer-reviewed journal articles, a few book chapters, and a book during his career. In addition, He made 82 professional presentations at national and international conferences. He has received more than $4.5 million, out of more than $35 million worth grant proposals submitted, for his research and human service projects from Federal, State and the Foundations in the USA. Dr. Pasupuleti was a recipient of “Hartford Geriatric Faculty Scholar Award” (2008-11) from the Gerontological Society of America, sponsored by the John A. Hartford Foundation. Dr. Pasupuleti has received College Level Outstanding Researcher Award” in 2010 from the UT Judith Herb College of Education, Health Science and Human Service and the University of Toledo Award for Outstanding Contribution for Engaged Scholarship and Community Outreach in 2012. He was a nominee for 2014 University of Toledo’s Outstanding Teachers’ Award, He was also awarded “Shining Star” for his work in Inter-Professional Education Team during 2013-14 at the University of Toledo. At UTRGV, he also received Outstanding Graduate Program Coordinator awards two years in a row, 2018-19 & 2019-20. His current research interests include large systems; age friendly community; technology use and its impact on older adults; cognitive aging and brain plasticity; and cross-cultural social justice studies. He is also engaged behavioral interventions for school-age children and inter-professional interventions for triple-diagnosed youth (with substance use history) and behavioral intervention for cancer patients, Finally, he is very active on his favorite action research project of building age friendly inclusive communities and cities (AFICs). Dr. Pasupuleti currently serves as Associate Editor for International Journal of Social Science Research (since 2013) and Journal of Mental Health & Social Behavior and editorial board member for the Journal of Practicing Social Change (since 2015). He recently served as associate editor for Encyclopedia of Macro Social Work (2018-2021), being published by Oxford University Press. He served on the editorial board and reviewer for the Journal of Community Practice and as Special editor for its special edition on service learning. (2009-12). He was also special editor for the Journal of Social Development Issues (2012-13). Dr. Pasupuleti served as editor for International Journal of Social Perspectives and reviewer for Journal of Aging and Social Work and Journal of Advances in Social Work. Further, he served peer reviewer of grant proposals submitted to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Dr. Pasupuleti also serves as site visitor for Council on Social Work Education (USA) and is certified LIFO Trainer. He served as Task Force member on Social Work curriculum appointed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (2017-2020). He also served as Task Force member of Online Education appointed by the University of Texas System (2018-2022). Dr. Urmila Yadav is currently working as Associate Professor in Sharda School of Law, Sharda University since 2012. She is actively engaged in teaching & research. She has more than 50 research papers published in various reputed National and International journals. She has published, authored and edited books on various Women &Elderly related issues and has received many accolades in the academic area. She has received Awards by National Commission for Women (NCW) & Uttar Pradesh Police (Women & Safety Wing) for her excellent contribution in society. She has received financial assistance by Government of India 7 time.
