Reviews

Safe Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: An Illustrated Atlas by Mohammad Ibrarullah and SS Sikora deals with preoperative workup, especially and when how to anticipate a difficult gall bladder (GB) and detect common bile duct (CBD) stones. Full chapters justifiably deal with surgical anatomy and the critical view of safety (CVS)- the mool mantra (Sanskrit: the key incantation) of LC. The book illustrates and describes the step-by-step approach to the technique of LC in presence of normal as well as abnormal (aberrant) anatomy, to perform a safe cholecystectomy in not only easy but even in difficult cases. The Atlas is a treasure house of excellent quality well-labeled images and videos with supplementary explanatory and easy-to-read text. The book is invaluable, and the authors have deep knowledge and vast experience in not only performing laparoscopic cholecystectomy but aslo managing the complications of laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
