Overview

Navy veteran, history teacher, and recent widower Ron lost his wife Annie, a free spirit and the love of his life, to cancer. He's now adrift in grief. After dealing with obsessed co-worker Cassandra and a series of failed dates, stunning Latina and Texas Tornado Halsey, adrift herself after a violent and abusive marriage, blows into his life on a blind date only to be transferred away after two dates. Then his former student June, now a widow herself after losing her heroic soldier husband years back, turns up at his door. She's no longer the 17 year old girl he saved from a school shooter years ago but now a beautiful woman, online chef, and law school student. June, adrift in grief and self-destructive behavior, was sent to Ron by her grateful mother to find safe harbor using the justification of Ron's empty large home being good for June's cooking channel and closer to her law school. Entirely platonic at first, they begin to connect over a shared love of old movies. Then Halsey returns and a choice has to be made. Further storms are on the horizon as they all navigate life.
