Everything You Could Want in a Children's Book I'm so excited to share this book with my daughter as we have a dog that looks just like Rylee! The rhyming story is super cute with a heartwarming message. The illustrations are just perfect-- vibrant colors, adorable animals, and fun details to find and point out. I'm so impressed with this author/illustrator. We'll be reading this book for years to come. Great read aloud, one of our family favorites! My kids adore this book and especially love pointing out all the pets and their humorous expressions. I think all three of them have brought it into school for show and tell at this point. As a parent I love the flowing rhymes, the book's messages and themes and that there's lots of things for us to talk about on each page. We have gifted this book several times and always heard how much it is enjoyed. Highly recommend! The absolute cutest book! We LOVED Rylee Finds a Family! It's absolutely adorable. My children have enjoyed following Rylee throughout the story, helping her search for a family by locating hidden characters within the colorful illustrations. The story culminates with a wonderful message between the lines that while others you meet may be different from you, everyone can still be a friend or part of a family, despite any differences on the outside. I have loved reading this with my children to help them pick up on traits such as courage, kindness, and friendship. This has been in the night time rotation for both my children for the past 6 and 2.5 years. It's a very cute short story of an animal family coming together despite their differences. "Author-Illustrator Jillian Lee lives with her family and two dogs on the Connecticut shoreline and has a passion for training and development and all things creative. Her debut book, ""Rylee Finds a Family: a happy puppy tale,"" is a 2022 Tassy Walden Awards Finalist for New Voices in Children's Literature. Rylee Finds a Family was inspired by her family's childhood pets who were known to snuggle up together and included a lovebird, rescue cat, rescue green-winged macaw, too many fish to count, and Rylee, an Irish Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This book was in the works for over a decade, but amazing feedback from kids of all ages, a health scare for her dog Rylee, and an opportunity to be a mystery reader in her 1st grader's classroom, all helped to get this book over the finish line!
