Overview

When her boyfriend, Mark, became emotionally abusive, Ruth left him with help from Caitlin's Escape Route. She returned home to discover that her widowed mother, Michaela, was dating again. Ruth got her old job back and also started assisting in the transporting of victims of abuse through the escape route. With each victim she met, she learned a little more about the different levels of abuse from their experiences. She became worried when she noticed her mom's boyfriend, Steve, displaying behavior similar to that related to her by some of the victims she'd met. She started dating Owen, convinced that she had finally figured out where she went wrong with Mark...but had she?
