OverviewRumours Of Passion; Visions Of Dust The Lyrics Paul Murphy The lyrics to Irish singer/songwriter Paul Murphy's 1998 mini-album, Rumours Of Passion; Visions Of Dust. A fast-paced rock album, even on paper the lyrics come across at a frenetic pace, and the material here bounces with the narrative twists this master wordsmith is known for. Works presented include the ruminative title track; internet favourite 'mini-movies' 'Me And The Princess' and 'Pretty Woman & The Photographer'; the vituperative late-1980's me-gen take-down 'All The Joys You've Tasted'; end-of-relationship examination 'Don't Look To Me For Comfort'; the slow, beguiling, life reflection 'Side By Side With Illusion'; the look-back-in-anger 'Wedding Song' and 'Loser's Blues'; and 'Further Along The Watchtower' in place of the album's one cover version, a coda to Bob Dylan's classic 'All Along The Watchtower'. Also included is an essay by Paul on the songs and recording circumstances, 'Trying To Recall Tomorrow', and as bonus material there are photographs hand-written lyric sheets, and online cue-card artworks and alternate cover art.
