Rumi

Overview

Dr. Henry Jekyll is convinced that inside him instincts for good vie with darker impulses - but what began as a scientific experiment becomes a battle to prevent evil from wreaking untold havoc. Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel uses multiple narratives to weave a gripping tale with an unpalatable core conceit: that base instincts lurk within us, waiting to be triggered. Chiltern are publishers of exquisitely crafted editions of the world's finest classic literature. These beautiful books are a perfect mix of tradition and the very latest in printing techniques. With wonderful original, detailed and embossed covers, sparkling gilt edges, cream art paper, ribbon markers and stitched binding they are simply the most beautiful classics ever published.

Author Information

Jalal al-Din Rumi was the greatest Sufi mystic and poet in the Persian language. His experience of love, longing, and loss turned Rumi into the greatest poet of the 13th Century. His didactic epic ""Spiritual Couplets"", widely influenced mystical thought and literature throughout the Muslim world. Rumi was a universalist in that his poetry crossed religious sectors and faiths due to its great wisdom, clarity, and love. His poems are translated and widely read around the world still today. Many claim that his poetry deepened their own spiritual practices, in addition to serving as a bridge from religion to culture to psychology.
