Overview

Introduction I made many mistakes in my life by not knowing Man made Laws. However, I had to suffer the consequences after breaking some of them. I learned not to continue to break the Law or I would eventually end up in prison or dead. Among poor people there is a lot of pressure not to look poor so as not to be the butt of jokes about how you dress even though most people's are. It's an attempt to reclaim some dignity and present oneself as belonging to the class to which one aspires, i.e., the class that is not so fresh and so clean is popular in the ghetto. To stay in the game you have to keep your image up by your attire being washed and neat looking no matter what, because the appearance you portray to society to be successful get a job, respect by other etc., will determine your destiny. Life is a gift from God. So enjoy it and make the best of it. You will be seen more, if you contribute something positive toward society and others than intimidate and embarrass yourself by being indecent. Don't tee-row yourself and be a loser your entire life. What a waste! The old saying is you must make it over Fool's hill and change your life style. I guess I was blessed by the mercy of God to make it over that hill. My life turned in another direction which made me a better man. Later in life, I was inspired to publish this booklet to inform the reader (s) on Rules to Uphold & Live By. Therlee Gipson

Author Information

Therlee Gipson was born on August 10, 1939 in Overton, Texas, to McKinley Gipson, Sr. and Rena (Ervin) Gipson. My mother died when I was only 11 years old. I was the second of 7 siblings. This booklet's intention is to educate and inform you on Rules To Uphold & Live By (God & Man Law). When your life began, you will be face with a struggle against good and evil, right choices and bad choices. Unfortunate, I made many bad choices threw out my lifetime. After my mother died her sister, my aunt Ada came and lived with us for a few years. Aunt Ada introduced my siblings and I to religion (Church of God in Christ). I was baptize at the age of twelve. This event changed my life and my attitude on the choices of good and evil. When I was a teenager I pondered the question of being good and never getting out of poverty. I look back at my life now and realize money and wealth is not the answer to fulfillment. I believe a person's lifestyle is a testament to success; if he or she live a decent productive life. However, I have had many close calls during my lifetime with death. Somehow, with the grace of God, I overcame my mistakes and I am still living today. Being at the wrong place and doing the wrong thing can be devastating. I am thankful my aunt Ada instilled in me a conscious for morality and wanting to do good deeds instead of evil deeds. These virtues was engrained in me at an early age which lasted threw out my lifetime. I want this book to instill doing the right thing by making good choices in ones life and not suffer with hardship because of the lack of knowledge, morality and common sense. I hope this booklet can enhance someone's life to make them a better person. Keep this book as a reminder on doing good against doing evil. You will greatly be rewarded if you do. However, life will always be a struggle. It will be up to you to make the right choices by obeying the rule of law and consciousness.
