OverviewThis story is a heartwarming tale about determination, empathy, and the discovery of true kindness. Ruby, a determined and ambitious character, has spent her whole life training to earn the title of ""Squirrel Master."" With the help of her best friend, Skye, she hones her speed, agility, and strategy, preparing herself for the ultimate challenge-catching a squirrel. However, when the long-awaited moment arrives, Ruby sees that the squirrel is injured. Instead of pursuing her goal, she chooses compassion over competition, offering the squirrel food rather than chasing it. In doing so, Ruby learns an important lesson: true greatness isn't about proving one's strength but about understanding and helping others. The story ends on a lighthearted note as Ruby and Skye move on to a new adventure, showing that life is full of opportunities for fun, growth, and kindness. This narrative teaches readers the value of empathy, adaptability, and finding joy in new experiences. I was born and raised in the beautifully friendly town of Princeton, Minnesota. There I raised 3 talented and handsome boys who have gone on to be successful, kind and caring people. I am so proud of all three of them. I spent most of my working career with children. I owned and operated a fun loving childcare center and from there I went back to finish my elementary degree and taught Kindergarten at Princeton Primary school. After my late husband died, and stumbled around a bit personally I met my beautiful Kevin. When he decided to retire I followed and we now live in Vining, Minnesota on East Battle Lake. Together we enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer us; fishing, camping, hunting, snowmobiling and as much time with our grandkids as we can get. Ruby and Skye are an integral part of our everyday lives. They have become as close as children to us. Hunting and chasing squirrels is how I decided to start a children's book about them. I see a series about them in the future. We love the Lord with all of our hearts and listen to him as he leads us through this beautiful life he has blessed us with.
