Roy and Dale on Stage and in Between

Overview

Roy and Dale Onstage and In Between is a lighthearted, visually rich journey through the lives of America's King of the Cowboys and Queen of the West, both in the spotlight and beyond. Told through photographs, little known trivia, and memorable quotes, the eclectic story unfolds through the affectionate and observant lens of their granddaughter, offering a perspective that is both personal and warmly nostalgic. Woven throughout are delightful glimpses of the many familiar faces who crossed their path along the way - Hollywood legends, musicians, athletes, and friends - revealing a mosaic of unexpected and often charming connections. Whether sharing the stage, the screen, or simply a moment in time, these intersections paint a broader picture of an era when entertainment felt both larger-than-life, yet surprisingly close-knit. At its heart, this book is a celebration of legacy, laughter, and the ""in-between"" moments that made Roy and Dale not just stars, but enduringly beloved. Roy and Dale Onstage and In Between is what happens when you randomly open the family scrapbook on their public and private lives and leave it open a little longer than you planned.

Author Information

Julie Rogers Pomilia is an educator, storyteller, and lifelong keeper of family stories; some legendary, some wonderfully ordinary. As the granddaughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, she grew up around movie sets, music, horses and a whole lot of laughter, learning that life is as much about the quiet, in-between moments as it is of time in the spotlight. With more than thirty years in early childhood education, Julie approaches history the same way she approaches life; with curiosity, gratitude, and a sense of humor. She is also the author of the children's picture book, The Ridiculous Party, and Your Heroes, My Grandparents: A Granddaughter's Love, a book filled with personal memories and behind-the-scenes stand-alone short stories from growing up with Roy and Dale simply as Grandma and Grandpa. She doesn't take herself too seriously, but she deeply appreciates the life she was given, and loves passing those stories along, one memory at a time.
