"Al Olson has spent most of his life in the entertainment industry. He has worked as a producer, writer, director, performer and union stagehand. While finishing up his Physics degree from the University of Minnesota he was cast at The Guthrie Theater for 53 performances of ""Becket"" in 1973. Four years later he was hired with his folk singing group, ""Pumpkin,"" to perform at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Before the first season was over he appeared as half of Smee and Blogg, the Singing Executioners, which has resulted in over 35 years of work. He also produced the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, Blackbeard's Pirate Festival in Dallas and two stage presentations of ""Raven Lunatics,"" an Edgar Allen Poe Christmas show. For the last few years he has had contracts with Texas Ballet Theater and the Fort Worth Opera Festival as a prop man. In the late 1980's and early 1990's Smee was often sighted carrying his young daughter at festivals and promotions. Now he has the opportunity once again with his granddaughter Roxi. He intends to produce a series of books with her."
