Table of ContentsReviewsMany of Dorian's followers, friends and the hundreds of people that have attended his workshops will be delighted with this publication. In it, Dorian shares a lifetime of reflection on the insights his work and reading have given him, the skills that he has acquired, and above all the many stories of Dorian, the consummate storyteller. You will meet again Oom Schalk Lourens who knows how to weave a yarn beside the fireplace, and you will meet too Dorian the Methodist, Dorian the Jew, Dorian the Hindu and Dorian the Buddhist and each one will give you a surprising and new perspective on life. Over the years Dorian has invited many people to the pen and the empty page to begin the magic and mystery of writing their own story and through that process to heal and re-imagine and re-story their lives. In that sense his work has been transforming in the lives of many, who have found their voice and have gone on to produce their own memoirs, write stories and publish their works. Add to that his work amongst children and young people in Namibia. In schools, colleges and university his work has helped to uplift struggling communities of children, and searching students. Then there is the poetry, and know that Dorian has written over one and a half thousand poems, a small portion of which are in this publication. New readers to the poetry may find that while the prose passages move smoothly with Dorian's lightness of touch, the poems slow things down and call for a different way of reading. Poems often require that you read them aloud over and over so that you pick up their rhythms, their music, their subtle levels of meaning. However, you may not want them to slow you down so I suggest you read them once, and come back to them later, when you can give more time to them. You may want to use them in your own quiet times, reflections and meditations. Thank you Dorian for sharing so much of your journey with us in Route 77.
