Overview

Nigeria continues to face a lot of turmoils in almost every aspect of human endeavour, but the particular issues in the political arena are quite central to the predicaments afflicting the state of the nation. I, therefore, decided to pen down my thoughts regarding my experiences as a senatorial candidate, during the 2019 Nigerian general elections. My participation in the elections was fuelled by my passion for the development of my country in general, and also by the agitation for active youths involvement and representations in running the affairs of the country. The contents of this book are, however, not to attack any political party or individual. Part one of the book discusses the brief history of Nigeria and the political landscape, which can serve as a reference manual for youths, academics, politicians, and all book lovers. Part Two focuses mainly on my various experiences as a senatorial candidate of Oyo North Senatorial District, in Oyo State, during the 2019 general elections. This section will indeed be beneficial to youths or individuals who may want to venture into politics, especially, for a better understanding of the nitty-gritty of what the whole election processes entail, starting from the candidate's expression of interest to nomination processes, the campaign procedures, and finally, the aftermath of the elections. The book also contains some recommendations for Governments, Individuals, and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
