OverviewModern manufacturing techniques like rotary-ultrasonic machining are typically used to process materials with high hardness or brittleness, such glass, quartz, ceramics semiconductor material etc. Consequently, rotary-ultrasonic machining may offer an approach to solve the issue of polyvinyl butyral glass material's machinability. In contrast to thermal based machining methods, the machined surface produced by rotary-ultrasonic machining has been found to be free of any surface defects delamination, cracks and heat affected zone. In order to better understand the machining efficiency in rotary-ultrasonic drilling of polyvinyl butyral glass material, an attempt has been performed.
