OverviewIn my first book, Rosie, a newborn foal grows up on Laura's farm and makes friends with all the other critters living there. She learns from the frog that jumping is what she loves to do best. Now Rosie is two years old and Laura can see that a different kind of friend might be just what Rosie needs. Laura brings a new animal to the farm, but it is not like Rosie at all. When they meet for the first time, they both notice this. Can animals that look so different become friends? Children may wonder about their own playmates or be concerned that they are different from others in their class or neighborhood. However, they will see that Rosie and Soffi find games to play together, can understand each other, and become best friends. Rosie and Soffi are real animals in the author's family, but their conversations, etc. are fictional. Children may find it interesting to decide what in this book is fiction and what might be real on Laura's farm.
