Overview

My book contains both stories and poetry. I have been influenced by so many of life's events that it is difficult not to mention them in my writings. I think many of our life's events are designed to take us to the next level of development. After so many years memories still linger vividly in my mind. I gather my poems from the people I have met as well as the things that I have done. Fiction has its place in my writing, but the truth is always welcome and can stand the test of time. It is never out of season. History will always prove and testify to that fact. As I look into the future, in my mind I see a kaleidoscope of beauty in stories yet untold. I think as writers and poets, we have a responsibility to let those who come after us know where we came from. I think we should share our knowledge and let our stories be told, for in them dwell the seeds for future generations. We keep our ancestors alive by telling the events of their lives through our experiences. I am so grateful to God to have the mindset to be a writer. I feel that I'm a conduit for creativity that comes from somewhere, flows through me, and then out to the world. There have been times when I could not write down my thoughts fast enough. It was like the ancestors were sending me urgent messages to tell their story. My goal is to continue to release the many stories I have yet to share. Ronald Dove
