"This book, which resulted from the joint efforts of eight academics, celebrates Romanian contributions to English studies. The research, elaboration and proofreading, initiated and coordinated by Professor Floriana Popescu, together with its editing reflect the team work under the aegis of CITLIT (Cercetarea de interfaţă a textului original şi tradus. Dimensiuni cognitive şi comunicaţionale), the English Department Research Centre accredited by CNCSIS in 2005. This book brings to light the salient data of the local heritage ensuring ""Dunărea de Jos"" University of Galatz a unique position within the landscape of Romanian academia ESP studies. Our University has always played an important role in the education and specialization of professionals who made brilliant careers in such challenging industrial branches as shipbuilding, thermal machines and mechanics. This is why our survey dwells on a chronology of the theoretico-practical approaches to ESP as well as the impact of the locally-created manuals on the non-philology beneficiaries at this University."
