His current research is focused on imperial Gaul and the Roman East during the third century AD. Jerome Mairat is curator of the Heberden Coin Room in the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford. He is director of Roman Provincial Coinage online and was a collaborator to Roman Provincial Coinage III. He works mainly on the Roman coinage of the third century AD, both provincial and imperial.
