Overview

Egypt played a crucial role in the Roman Empire for seven centuries. ROGER S. BAGNALL is Professor Emeritus of Ancient History and founding Leon Levy Director Emeritus at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University. His publications include numerous books on the documents and social and economic history of Roman and Late Antique Egypt.
