OverviewRole of Gut Microbiome in Neurodegenerative Disorders provides an overview of the gut microbiota and its interactions with the gut and the central nervous system. This book reviews the relevance of this axis to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and Multiple sclerosis (MS). Various chapters discuss the effects of gut derived particles in various parts of brain and the targeting pathways leading to protein deposition in brain. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDr. Mukesh Kumar Yadav, is working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, Punjab, India. He has more than 15 years of research experience in the field of microbiology in general and microbial biofilms, host-pathogen interaction and endophytes in particular. In his laboratory, Dr. Yadav’s is working on microbial biofilms, antimicrobial resistance, pathogenesis and identification of novel pathways for the development of new antimicrobial/antibiofilm compounds. Dr. Yadav has published more than 74 research articles and received research grants from various funding agencies like, NRF Korea, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and University Grant Commission (UGC). Dr. Balachandar Vellingiri mainly works on neurological diseases and analyzing its genetic impact. He is working on various neurological diseases to investigate the molecular mechanism and developing human induced pluripotent stem cells (HiPSCs), and generating patient-derived Brain organoids as a promising disease model for various neurological diseases because understanding the inside mechanism of neurological diseases is always a difficult task. Exploring the cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and translational neuroscience approaches, he aims to unravel disease mechanisms, identify therapeutic targets, and develop innovative interventions to slow or reverse neurological diseases. He is well-expertise in techniques such as molecular cytogenetics, pathway analysis, and techniques in developing HiPSCs and Brain organoids, especially for neurological diseases. He has published over 100 research and review articles in various Internationally reputed SCI journals, 12 Book chapters and one book on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
