Overview

Gwendolyn's reactive history includes digital images, computer animation, film, photography, drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture and ceramics. She has combined many of these processes in developing images for a narrative populated by birds and other interesting characters in a mythical context called The Ensuing an illustrated novel. By utilizing online self-publishing tools the book's images, photography and layout are all the direct result of the artist herself. This book demonstrates how art and craft combine to create a unified portrayal of a broad art experience.

Author Information

Gwendolyn R. Rodig is a Chicago area artist and author. She studied photography at Columbia College in Chicago and film production at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She received her Associates of Art Degree from William Rainey Harper College in Illinois and earned her Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from Northern Illinois University with an emphasis in Painting. Gwendolyn creates artworks through traditional methods of Painting, Printmaking, Bronze casting and Ceramics sculpture, stop-motion animation and Illustration. She recently discovered Digital Painting and is self-taught. She is working on her first novel, The Ensuing"" an illustrated novel, which influences much of her artwork. She has been developing artwork related to that storyline since 2008. Her novel will have all these types of different artwork throughout depicting her vision of her characters and landscape.
