Ellen Phillips has Master's degrees in horticulture and creative writing. She lives in Pennsylvania where she gardens organically on an acre, raises heritage chickens, and is an executive editor at Rodale Inc. C. Colston Burrell is a garden designer, writer, photographer, and the owner of Native Landscape Design and Restoration, which is located near Charlottesville, Virginia. He is the author of Perennial Combinations, Better Homes and Gardens Perennials for Today's Gardens, and numerous other books and articles on plants and gardening.
