She is an elected fellow of the Geological Society of America (GSA) and has published more than seventy peer-reviewed papers in international journals. As a geologist, she is trained to listen to the rocks, read their minds, and uncover their stories from over hundreds of millions of years. She loves the outdoors and spends most of her free time climbing, hiking, and skiing in the Rocky Mountains. She also loves to take her students into the mountains for field trips. She was born and raised in Germany and worked in the US for ten years before she came to Calgary, Alberta, in 2017.
