I liked being thrown off the scent and being wrong about who was guilty of what crimes throughout the story. Keeping the reader guessing is a great way to keep them interested! I've known families with secrets. Sometimes they'd take those secrets with them to the grave. Scenes played out in my head like I was watching a show on TV. It flowed organically. I watched Eli and Charli sleuth in my mind's eye. Just enough detail to make it really exciting without bogging down action. Descriptions were great and set the scene perfectly. It totally made the atmosphere believable as I read it. I practically smelled gin and cigarettes combined with grime and filth. Sooo gross! Perfect. Anyone can be a criminal, regardless of orientation. Stories like this help break down the stereotype when LGBTQ people are shown like you did. Thanks for that! Perspective from someone in a marginalized group. I can tell you did the appropriate scientific research. Characters are easy to tell apart. (well-delineated or differentiated) A good solid story. Awesome! Shew! That was like an episode of NCIS or something! Very tense and exciting! I didn't see that coming. This small town loves family drama!
