Then she began writing newspaper articles for the Los Angeles Times and the Santa Monica Evening Outlook. She fell in love with a visiting Australian, Matthew Goode in 1981. They married in 1982 and moved back to Australia. She began writing books and then started a multi-faith program called the Abraham Institute. After serving as director of the program for seventeen years, she retired and began writing books again. Amanda is an award-winning artist living in Adelaide South Australia who has recently Illustrated several children's books for her author friend Katherine Goode.
