Overview

"The rapidly changing nature of road traffic law has meant a number of significant revisions to this work. The 2002 Road Traffic manual contains additions to some of the key areas of road traffic law such as: classifications and definitions; drink driving and off-road offences; driver licensing; and obstruction of the highway. Further amendments cover the areas of: the driving of emergency vehicles; additional powers to regulate traffic and remove vehicles crossings; and vehicle excise and registration offences. The 2001/2002 ""Road Traffic"" manual contains significant revisions, reflecting both the expansion of the relevant law and also the changes in the police promotion examination syllabus. Among the new legislation appearing in the manual are: the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000; the Terrorism Act 2000; and the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001, together with a number of statutory instruments, cases and commentary. The manual is endorsed by National Police Training as the approved text for the Foundation Training Course for Probationer Constables, Sergeants and Inspectors, making the manual essential reading for all police officers."
