Sevigny, author of Brave the Wild River: The Untold Story of Two Women Who Mapped the Botany of the Grand Canyon Pete Hill artfully weaves together the stories of a remarkable group of people with the stories of the rivers and wetlands they care for. His book is a thoughtful, entertaining insider’s look at the history and current state of river restoration. But it is more than that; it is an object lesson in listening closely—both to the river stewards who are the ostensible subjects of the book, and to the waterscapes that are urgently calling out to those who have learned to hear their voices. -- Shimon Anisfeld, Senior Lecturer II and Senior Research Scientist, Yale School of the Environment Pete Hill artfully weaves together the stories of a remarkable group of people with the stories of the rivers and wetlands they care for.
