River of Life: A Poetic Journey

Overview

The future's unfolding Swaths of possibilities Rapids of change With cliffs of discovery. In this vibrant collection of poems, Sandy Moonias guides readers from the unknown to the edge where they may discover and find themselves. These free verse and rhyming poems explore themes of trauma and addiction against a natural landscape, juxtaposing our internal world with the external. While our emotions may be fleeting, Moonias showcases the permanence of the natural world. The River of Life: A Poetic Journey is the poet's expression of helping others understand and recover from trauma and addiction. With so many people facing these difficulties, Moonias hopes these poems will inspire and support those in need. The path to wellness and healing is varied and individual, but a journey no one has to endure alone. Nature is always there for us-if we know where to look. With nature as a constant, we find dependability in the birds. eagles, birch trees and rivers. At the very heart of this collection is resilience-of the environment, of the human spirit. When we break like frozen rivers in spring, we can see ourselves as shards of ice or a possibility for change, a renewal, remaking our former selves.
