OverviewIn my first couple of books I have provided you the reader with all the information that you need to build in yourself the knowledge and dedication to live true to the Æsir. Not to simply practice at being something that you are not sure that you are. Ripples in the Well of Wyrd is not entirely an instructional manuscript. Within these pages you will find a memory of the things that I have done, in my own journey to becoming closer to the Gods, Goddesses and the spirits of all kinds and sizes; as well as some of the things that others have done in working with myself and others within the Garðr. Here I have recorded the things that have worked for me throughout this journey and those things that have not. You will get a helping of both. The intention is to share with the world the things that I; no ""We,"" find most sacred and beautiful. The gifts that the Gods have granted to us. Yes, I do believe in the Gods and Goddesses to be 100% real and alive just as you and I are alive. If you have read my first several books you already know that. In this book I am delivering to you something a bit different. The small things that we do and live. Reasons for why we do them. Some experiences we have had with several spirits and even the Gods and Goddesses. My first instinct was to write another book on Northern Shamanism. While our ancestors had special wise men and women, seiðrkona, and seiðrmaðr. The Chicken Lady and the sorcerer who lived just outside the village alone most of the time. But not all of it. Whatever you want to call them, none of our ancestors called them shamans. Though their function was the same. This led me away from writing a book on that subject directly. In Ripples of the Well of Wyrd you will see into our very personal life experiences and at times work through some of the issues and experiences that we have had. Toward the end of this manuscript I have included the answer key for the first two parts of Urban Heathenry. Including various excerpts from students that have undergone the curriculum, so that you the reader can see how it all really comes together. I do this in the hopes that you who are not directly participating with the Garthr for whatever the reason is, will not cheat their way through the material. Instead utilize these pages as an assisted learning tool to understanding and finding your way amongst our tradition. Thus, in the ripples, as a focusing upon memories of our lives. Within each short story I share will be the only truths that I know. The world around us is alive and not as tame as we would like to believe that it is. As a modern day Óðinnist I invite you into my reality.
