Overview

An exploration of power and tyranny in a post-apocalyptic world. Inside, from his bedroom, 'Sir' rules 'The District' and the lives of Elliott, the butler, and Miranda, the maid. Their romance has hit the rocks, their jobs don't exist, but she's got some sort of relationship with Sir that guarantees them food, shelter and safety. Then everything goes wrong, but not in ways that you expect or can foresee.

Author Information

ALAN HRUSKA is the author of several plays including The Man on Her Mind, New House Under Construction, and Ring Twice for Miranda (soon to be a film directed by Bruce Guthrie). As a filmmaker he has written and directed or co-directed four films: Nola, The Warrior Class, Reunion and The Man on Her Mind. Also a novelist, his books include Borrowed Time, Wrong Man Running, Pardon the Ravens and It Happened at Two in the Morning. Hruska is a co-founder of the New York publishing house, Soho Press and a member of the Actors Studio, Playwrights and Directors Unit.
