Toni Kan is the award-winning author of critically acclaimed works of fiction and poetry, including Songs for Bar Beach (A memorial in verse), The Carnivorous City, Nights of the Creaking Bed, and When a Dream Lingers Too Long. He has also ghost-written ten biographies.A fellow of the Heinrich Boll Writing Fellowship (Germany), Civitella Ranieri Writing Fellowship (Italy), and Yaddo Writing Fellowship (USA), his works have appeared in Agni, Wasafiri, Sentinel, Eleven-Eleven, BBC and the Financial Times. He is a 2021 recipient of the Global Talent Visa in the Exceptional Talent Category.His awards include the Saro Wiwa/NDDC Prose Prize, Prof. Wole Soyinka Award for Literature, MUSON Poetry Prize, Liberty Short Stories prize, and Swiss Radio Essay Competition prize.Kan is working on a novel, The Devil Got Up to Drink Water.
