This story can be enjoyed by children and adults. The rhythm of the free-rhyming verses invites the reader to enter into that creative state that occurs when the musicality of the words has a role to play. It's just then, when the child can imagine more vividly the scene that is narrated; the adult can help in the understanding of difficult words while both allow themselves to be invaded by the events, making the appropriate pauses throughout the reading; pauses that are marked by spelling and punctuation marks and an implied short recess at the end of each line. Because it is not illustrated and is so candid, this short story could become one of the first readings in books without pictures.
