Overview

Rhyme For All Seasons, Many Holidays and Special Occasions is a treasury for poetry lovers or secular speakers, but especially for religious speakers on or near a holiday. About 200 of Dr. Skelton's poems about seasons, holidays, and/or special occasions are chronologically arranged in four sections, with a fifth section for non-seasonal special occassions. The reader may be surprised at some that are included. Doc writes to be understood, and is willing to sacrifice some of the fancy poetic terms for the sake of clarity. He does seek for words that are pleasing to the ear, but not at the expense of reader understanding. He suggests that you read these poems with a close eye on the calendar.

C. B. Skelton is a retired family physician. A nonagenarian, he attended Emory University School of Medicine after serving in WWII. After internship and residency, he practiced medicine in Winder Ga. for 42+ years. Doc has outlived two fabulous wives and, at near age 87, married a third. He boasts of five natural daughters, one adopted son, two stepdaughters, two stepsons, oodles of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Doctor Skelton's official writing career began in 1994 as he launched a local newspaper column, Random Rants in Rhyme.
