Overview

One of Gershwin's most popular compositions, Rhapsody in Blue was commissioned in 1924 for solo piano and jazz band, combining elements of classical music with jazz from the era. The piece premiered in the concert ""An Experiment in Modern Music"" and established Gershwin's reputation as a serious composer, and has since become a standard of all American concert works. Available for the first time in Dover's music catalog, this affordable edition of the Gershwin classic is a must-have for any pianist. Includes Solo Piano and Piano and Orchestra versions with Orchestral Reduction for Second Piano.
