Author Information

Dr. Richard T. Hughes is a Distinguished Professor of Religion and the Director of the Center for Faith and Learning at Pepperdine University. Having earned his B.A. in Bible from Harding University ('65), he went on to earn his M.A. in History of Christianity from ACU in 1967. He holds a Ph.D. in History of Christianity from the University of Iowa (1972). Dr. Hughes was selected by the student body of Pepperdine University as the 'Faculty Person of the Year' for the 1992-1993 school term. He has published over a dozen books on history and the Church. He and his wife Jan live in Malibu, California and are members of the University Church of Christ.
