Return to Honor

Overview

Return to Honor is a gripping science fiction epic that intertwines themes of grief, resilience, and cosmic destiny. Set in a future where Earth faces an existential threat from the ruthless Sarnian Empire, the story follows Dwight Dilettuso, a grieving ex-soldier haunted by the loss of his family, and Zini Hauzini, an Apache woman with a deep connection to her heritage. Their lives converge in a remote Vermont cabin when an alien encounter thrusts them into a galactic conflict. The prologue introduces Grand Admiral Zektar, a Sarnian commander whose destruction of the planet Vorga foreshadows the Empire's ambitions for Earth. Forty years later, Dwight, seeking solace in isolation, is unexpectedly visited by Zini, an old friend delivering pizza. Their reunion is shattered by a violent Sarnian scout attack, countered by Rhon-Telos, an Illumian warrior who reveals the Sarnians' plan to invade Earth. Dwight and Zini, driven by personal loss and newfound purpose, join Rhon-Telos to resist the looming threat. As they train with advanced Illumian technology and confront betrayals-most notably from Caelum, a supposed ally revealed as a Sarnian mole-they uncover prophecies tying their fates to Earth's survival. Zini's Apache heritage and Dwight's tactical prowess become pivotal in their mission to infiltrate Sarnus, the Sarnian homeworld, to gather intelligence and exploit weaknesses. Facing a civilization built on deception and brutality, their bond deepens, offering strength against overwhelming odds. The novel culminates in a high-stakes journey into enemy territory, where an unexpected threat emerges, setting the stage for a climactic battle for Earth's future.
