Overview1216 AD Victory or death. King John is dead. His heir is a nine-year-old boy. The royalist cause is out of money and soldiers, and Prince Louis of France seems destined to become the next king of England. Meanwhile, sworn enemies Roger of Huntley and the archer Matthew wage their own war against the French in the forest of the Weald. It is a brutal conflict, with no quarter given by either side. The French are led by Engelard of Tours, the Dark Angel. Roger has pledged to kill Engelard, so has Matthew. When that is done, Matthew intends to kill Roger, as well. Despite their disadvantages, the English side fights on. There is only one way this war will end. Victory or death.
