Author Information

Cassidy Johnson is Professor of Urbanism and Disaster Risk Reduction at The Bartlett Development Planning Unit, University College London. Garima Jain is Senior Consultant at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, Bangalore, and her research and practice focus on long-term implications of climate adaptation and risk reduction responses on people and the socio-ecological systems, and how inequities get entrenched in places in the process. Allan Lavell has been a researcher at the Latin American Social Science Faculty based in San Jose Costa Rica for the last 29 years. Trained in in urban and regional development he has specialised in disaster risk, disaster risk management and climate change risk for the last 30 years. He received the UN Sasakawa Prize in 2015 for his contributions to disaster risk management worldwide.
