Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite - Very Encouraging Rest in God: A Prayer Journal With 100 Prayers and Scriptures for Daily Needs by Yvonne M Morgan is an uplifting collection of prayers and scriptures. As the title suggests, it shows readers how to rest in God through difficult times and why it is important to develop a devotional life through prayer and meditation. The book will take readers on a new adventure with God and will be a treasured keepsake and testimony of their faith. The author gives the right words for readers to use for their prayers and develop their own prayer patterns. There are also scriptural references to encourage readers in their prayer life. This prayer journal is an excellent guide that will help readers form their own connection with God so that they can find comfort during difficult times. The approach to the topic is novel and interactive, and Yvonne M Morgan pulls in readers to participate in the journaling activities so that they are not discouraged during their times of adversities and struggles. I love the spaces left for 'My Prayers' and 'Answered Prayers'; it will help readers strengthen their faith and trust in the power of God. Rest in God is good to own and use in Bible classes to help readers understand the power and presence of God in their lives. The thought of having a scripture with every prayer is indeed a good way to find the guidance they have been looking for. Yvonne M Morgan makes praying and prayers simple and easy to incorporate into daily life through this book, and it will encourage and motivate readers to continuously look for the Lord's guidance while facing difficult situations in life. Reviewed by Jamie Michele for Readers' Favorite - Very Highly Recommend Rest in God by Yvonne M Morgan is a Christian devotional journal for those looking for inspiration during prayer and scripture to bridge the gap between what we want to say in prayer and finding the words to most effectively say it. This is a fairly straightforward compilation wherein Morgan provides prayer guidance for multiple situations, including prayers for guidance when we feel ourselves straying from a Christ-like path or find ourselves lost, bedtime prayers for children to strengthen the bond with the youngest of God's flock, and prayers for a heart that yearns to serve God in the manner He prescribes, among many others. Each prayer is accompanied by a connected scripture and journal pages to document the prayer itself and how it was answered. The version of Rest in God that I first picked up was an ebook version and initially I was concerned that I may not be able to fully employ what Yvonne M Morgan has created for us in this particular format. This changed a bit when I was on the London Underground and was seated beyond the recommended six feet away from a gentleman with a cough, and I was momentarily uneasy. These are unique times as we grapple with an earthly pandemic and the ability to reach into my bag and find a prayer for helping us live in harmony with one another through the story of the Good Samaritan, loving those who are placed in our path. When I arrived home I was able to refer to the printed version of my journal and allow myself to write of the calm that came over me, how a situation of discomfort and its after-effects are entirely in the hands of God, and push the experience to the back of my mind with a grateful heart. Wherever you are in your journey, this book comes very highly recommended.
