OverviewPresent-day respiratory physiology largely stems from the explosion of ideas which took place during and after World War II. We are fortunate that a number of the major players are still active, but the opportunity of preparing a personal history of these advances will soon be lost. In a sense therefore, this book offers an exceptional, even unique, opportunity. Some of the twelve chapters are rather personal accounts of the development of an area of respiratory physiology as seen by the author. It is hoped that what is lost in objectivity by this approach is more than made up by the interest of how the topic is seen to develop through the eyes of one of the principal proponents. All history is subjective to some degree; some of these chapters are more subjective than others. Full Product DetailsAuthor: John B.
