Overview

For more than a decade, researchers from around the world have been studying the impact of technology on the teaching and learning of mathematics. However, much of this research has not yet been taken into account in teaching, in research, and in the development of new curricula. In these two volumes a distinguished group of national and international mathematics education researchers provide insights into the impact of technology on the teaching and learning of mathematics. The first volume presents syntheses of technology-related research related to various areas of mathematics, mathematics teaching, and equity. The second volume presents case studies of the role of research in the development of technology-intensive curricula and tools. The second volume concludes with perspectives from other authors who address cross-cutting themes in the two volumes.
