His research focuses learning through and for work, professional development and research on expertise. He conducted various empirical studies in industrial and service enterprises and is currently member of an interdisciplinary Graduate School investigating human-centered approaches of digitalization of working life. Before taking the position at Paderborn university in 2010, he worked at the Universities of Regensburg, Ulm, and Bamberg. He acts as Editor-in-Chief for the journal Vocations and Learning. Studies in Vocational and Professional Education and is co-editor of this book series. Besides his scientific work, he likes all kinds of music, Bavarian cars, and he holds season tickets for Bayern München Dr Eva Kyndt is Associate Professor Human Resource Development at the University of Antwerp (Department of Training and Education Sciences) in Belgium and Swinburne University of Technology (Centre for Transformative Innovation) in Melbourne, Australia. Her research focuses on the intersection between learning and working and includes topics such as the transition from education to work, workplace learning, sustainable careers, and social networks in organisations. She is currently the founding editor-in-chief of Teaching and Teacher Education: Leadership and Professional development. Dr David Gijbels is Professor of Learning and Instruction in the Department of Training and Education Sciences at the faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
