OverviewThe author was an ARVN Airborne Ranger who escaped to the sea down the Vam Co River on April 30, 1975, the day Saigon fell. He made his way to the US and, after years of hardship, gained a Ph.D. and became a Professor of Information Technology. He has pursued a side-career as a chonicler of first-person stories of Vietnam combat. This is painful reading, because of the incompetence and pathos, and also as a further illustration of the ignobility of American treatment of our former allies. Read it, and regret.
