He graduated Valedictorian of his high school class, 1960, during the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement, and the same year that Charlene Hunter-Gault and Hamilton Holmes enrolled at the University of Georgia as its first black students. Although, a Teacher of Social Studies, the Author feels that he is best read as a writer and as an advocate for Civil rights.
