Earlier, she worked as a Senior Structural Engineer in the leading consultancy firms of Ahmedabad. During her tenure as a structural engineer, she had successfully completed the analysis, design and detailing works of different types of residential, industrial and commercial structures. She has been engaged in teaching concrete technology, strength of materials, repair and rehabilitation of structures, design and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel structures, structural engineering and advanced solid mechanics. She has published several research papers at national and international levels. She is also actively involved in the consultancy and material testing works taken up by the department in college. Her interests in the field of material research lies in evaluating the efficacy of the sustainable construction materials made out of industrial by-products and sustainable substitutes of concrete. Chirag N. Patel, PhD, is Assistant Professor, Applied Mechanics Department, Government Engineering College, Modasa, India. He has been engaged in teaching and research in concrete structures, post-damage assessment, structural health monitoring, analysis and design of RCC; steel; earthquake resistant concrete structures and soil-structure interaction.
