Obwohl es endlich an der Zeit wäre, Alex zu erklären, dass es den Weihnachtsmann nicht gibt, wollen Veronika und Carl trotz allem noch ein allerletztes Weihnachtsfest in diesem Glauben mit ihm verbringen. Vor allem Veronika, die in allem eine Perfektionistin ist, klammert sich verzweifelt an diese absurde Idee und schreckt vor nichts zurück, um ihren Plan in die Tat umzusetzen, obwohl sie selbst schon am Rande eines Nervenzusammenbruchs steht. Doch dieses Fest zu organisieren ist alles andere als einfach, denn Alex beginnt zu zweifeln, und alle sind noch vorsichtiger als sonst. So beginnt ein irrwitziges Wettrennen, in dem alles bis ins kleinste Detail perfekt sein muss, um dem Sohn das Unmögliche zu beweisen und den Zauber dieses letzten Weihnachtsfestes für immer unvergesslich zu machen. Doch wo sollen sie nur jemanden finden, der ein paar Tage vor dem Fest die Rolle des Weihnachtsmanns übernimmt? Obwohl Veronika sich mit Leib und Seele dagegen sträubt, bleibt ihnen nur eine einzige Lösung: Oskar, ihr verhasster Nachbar - ein Trunkenbold und heruntergekommener Kerl aus der Gegend. Schon allein sein ungepflegtes, stinkendes Auftreten bringt sie an den Rand des Wahnsinns. Ob Veronika und Carl ihren verrückten Plan wirklich bis zum Ende durchziehen oder am Ende doch an ihren eigenen Überzeugungen scheitern, bleibt bis zuletzt ungewiss. Eines ist jedoch sicher: Für sie alle werden es Weihnachtsfeiertage, die sie so schnell nicht vergessen werden.
